The Kaun Lab at IBANGS

Dr. Karla Kaun, the 2023-24 President of the International Behaviour and Neural Genetics Society (IBANGS), and postdocs Dr. John Hernandez and Dr. Lewis Sherer attended the 2024 Genes, Brains and Behavior meeting at Western University in London, Ontario June 3-6, 2024. Lewis presented a poster describing how hunger activates parallel circuit for cue-induced ethanol seeking circuits in Drosophila and John, who was one of the selected Oustanding Travel Awardees gave a well-received talk on his research describing a dopaminergic circuit for escalation of alcohol use in Drosophila.
