We are lucky to have PhD Candidate Nadine Nowag working with us from February through May, 2025. Nadine joins us from the Universitat Leipzig where under the mentorship of Dr. Andreas Thum in the Genetik Institutsgebäude, she is developing the Drosophila larva as a robust model to test the circuit mechanisms underlying fetal alcohol syndrome disorder. While in the Kaun Lab, Nadine is working on how alcohol early in development impacts the progression of larval development, and how it influences how rewarding larvae find alcohol.
